We all woke up pretty early today and have no real plans until noon when we have the boys basketball practice. First I had to fold an ungodly amount the laundry and we had to do the frantic search for the basketball uniforms (which should have been in the clean laundry but apparently it is more fun to throw them around the bedroom and then stuff them under the beds than put them into the laundry basket!).
Then we watched the “Wizards of Waverly Place” movie which was the selection for last night’s movie night – and since we don’t have to return it till 9PM tonight, we watched it again. Amazingly, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be and all of the kids actually watched it quietly the second time around too.
We have done well in our eating from the pantry challenge this week – in fact, several of the dinners have enough leftovers that we will be able to plan a left-over night for this week!
We didn’t end up doing pizza last night because I got a call from Wendy about doing dinner with her and her mom and dad. We ended up going to IHOP because they have a “kids eat free from 4-10 pm” deal and with the 4 of us adults, the kids would be free! That definitely works for me! Ended up that as I was leaving we ran into one of the teachers from the daycare who asked me if I had a coupon. She gave me a coupon for 20% off – and they took it off of the already reduced price with the 4 free kids meals. I ended up paying $7 for the 4 of us to eat!!!
So far, I have stuck to my budget pretty well – well, except for the “entertainment” side. Since that is where I budget babysitting, and I ended up having to go into work the last two weekends – well, that made me go over that budget!
I have $77 left of the $150 grocery budget for the next two weeks. I will have to go to the store to buy some fruit this weekend but think I have most of the things to make meals from what we have. I’m going to look through the freezers and pantry later today and come up with a meal plan for next week. I think we are going to have a mexican theme…yum!
Other things on the agenda this week is to paint our pinewood derby cars for next weeks pinewood derby competition – and taking down and putting away the outside Christmas decorations.
