Meal Planning

menuplanmondayOkay, one of the frugal ideas that is finally after hitting me on the head with a hammer getting through my head is the need to have a plan in place in order to avoid that – it’s 5:55 and I am just pulling into the daycare and the kids are going to be ravenous and I don’t have anything ready and I am too tired to fight tonight – feeling.  I am trying to make things ahead of time and have at least a plan in my head for which days I’m going to make what.  This is the first time I am actually writing it down…but, with all the food that we cooked over the weekend fresh in my mind I think I actually have a chance – and since I am working on service this week I know that I will have at least several (if not 5) of those days where I just need to have something ready cuz I am not gonna have any extra time.

So, here is our list (with the caveat that I take the liberty to change my mind on which day to eat what depending on how my day goes!)

Monday: left over Mac-and-Cheese

Tuesday: Lasagna with Garlic Bread (will freeze leftovers for mom to take for lunches the next few weeks)

Wednesday: Chicken Pot Pie

Thursday: Chicken nuggest and french fries

Friday: Leftovers

Saturday: Buttered noodles with parmesan cheese

Sunday:  Pizza

I think that this should be doable and I should be able to keep up with it.  Check out other Meal Planning Monday ideas and what others are cooking this week on the “I’m An Organizing Junkie Site“.
