So, went to WW and (again) had a + this week. Of course, I did indulge a little over my 4 day weekend but…
So, on Wednesday am I decided that I was going to – by hook or by crook- up my “movement”!
Did you know that exercise is a bad word? Yes, WW has officially gotten rid of that word and exchanged it with movement. With this new “MOMENTUM” plan, the 3 key steps are…1) eat “filling foods” and the correct portions of them…2) track everything you eat (isn’t everyone getting on the tracking bandwagon?) and 3) get moving (or move more).
So, let’s look at that “get moving”. They have changed the points for exercise so that you can use them and accumulate them over the week instead of having to use them the day you made them. Also, they have added in all kinds of non-exercise movements that can earn you points! Like…um…housework!
Anyway, I don’t consider housework exercise – not that I do a lot of housework, mind you…but did want to increase my movement. I have been impressed with one of my assistants who walks the stairs up to the 12th floor everyday and walks at lunchtime. Now, I have been using the stairs a little more (up one flight, down 3 flights) but going up 12 flights…think that would kill me!
So, starting yesterday I decided I was going to do 4 flights up on the way to my office each morning. I thought I would die and it took me about 5 minutes to get my heart rate down afterward but, I did it. Today I have been coughing and I almost talked myself into not doing it today but FORCED myself to do it!
I hope there is a defibrillator on the floor – that’s all I’m saying.
