I’m officially getting old – or I have too many kids – or both! 

Decided on the spur of the moment last weekend to visit my sister Jean on Long Island for a long weekend over the Easter weekend.  We left early Thursday (around 2:30) and I was hoping to have a good 5 hours of sleep before I had to stop.  Well, the kids are less likely to go right back to sleep in their car seats than they used to and they feed off of each other so one talks then the others respond and…lets just say that there was a lot of yelling going on.  Finally I think they all fell back asleep by 3:30 and Ihad a few hours to myself driving and listening to a James Patterson novel on the CD player.  We got onto the NJ Turnpike right around 6:30 and they were all back awake and annoying each other and I had to stop because I was sick of yelling.  So we stopped at the first travel area and ate breakfast.  We were back on the road by 7:15 or so and then I tried to entertain them with a DVD but they were no into it – and I was falling asleep.  Finally I just shut off the DVD and put my disks on to listen to my novel.  we stopped one more time to use the restroom and we arrived right around 9:30.  So, it was a good trip time wise, but I was beat when we got there and the kids were ready to R – U – N !!!  I am not looking forward to the drive home …I was planning on doing the same time leaving Jean’s but I may have to leave at 1:00 AM instead cuz I just had a 10 am meeting added to my calendar. 

It has been a good time so far and I am looking forward to the Easter Bunny tomorrow.  Jean has a party for her kids today so we will go to McD’s playland or something similar this afternoon and I will make them dinner here.
