Riley asked me today about my blog…I had to admit that I haven’t posted for a while. Then I looked and found out that I hadn’t posted since January 5th…WOW! Maybe if I say I am incognito then that can be my excuse (instead of just uninspired…) Picture from go-parga.com We have been swamped with [...]

It has been a night of fighting/grumping/and bickering. The kids are swinging between playing and at each other’s throats. I am totally done – wiped out. I don’t think there will be much done tonight. First Matthew and Riley…then Matthew and Amalia…then Addison and Matthew —all with an overview of Riley screaming and bothering everyone [...]

Last weekend I decided to take the kids to Charolottesville to go apple picking at Carter Mountain. The drive up was beautiful. 75 degrees and sunny. When we started driving up the mountain pass, all of the kids dropped their ipods/DSi’s and started oohing and aahing about how pretty it was and asking where the [...]

Riley’s All Star local tournament was this weekend. Despite having lost all 4 of their scrimmage games, they boys took advantage of a good draw and two out of 3 games where the opponents were playing their 2nd game of the day. But despite that, they played incredibly well. They won 3 games in a row [...]

There are days when I get down on myself and spend too much time worrying about the future and not enjoying today. Yesterday was a day like that. And then there are days where I can see that our kids are capable of much more than anyone could predict. Tonight was a day like that. We were [...]

My 6 year old daughter pointed out her loose tooth to me over the weekend. I tried to pull it but couldn’t get it to come out. Yesterday she ran up to me when I picked her up at the daycare with the following: “mom! – I lost a tooth” and then she tried to [...]
